Smile shifter linkage with 3" extended controls
Just a quick question what are you guys that have 3" extended forward controls running for a custom shift linkage rod? I was wandering if a dyna shift rod would work on my fxst. Dynas have a longer shift rod right? I would like to get a custom shift linkage rod.

cyclevisions has a 3" extension rod. Still looks good to me.

Just make your own shifter rod. Use 1/2 inch stainless steel rod, turn down and thread ends on to it. Your local machine shop can produce this is no time. Photo Attached.

if u havent bought ur extensions yet, the Arlen Ness kit comes with the rod and longer brake line which is a steel braided line

yes, the dyna one will work. I am running a diamondblack linkage for dyna models with forward controls on my Crossbones. I have forwards withe the Ness 3" extensions

Once I found the one I liked and matched the other stuff, ordered up a couple of after market 1.5 inch extensions,(kury's) re-threaded the extensions to fit the HD rod and heim joints. Made sure to measure the stock set up. Made the new one the same length. Installed new setup, admired work, consumed beverage of choice, went for ride...

Oh yea, I'm running the HD 3" forward control extendo stuff.

sweet thats what I will do. I also have the ness kit but don't really like the shift rod it came with. Although making one would be cool to. Thanks guys for your input.
