What is the top speed for an 07 softail classic?
I was on the hiway yesterday and i decided to to open it up all the way, from 0 to 80 it goes quick but from 80 to 90 is slooooooowwww, and it seems to hover around 90 to 93 i was there for about 45 seconds and had to let off because i didn't wanna get a ticket, but it seem like that was it, it had no more! I'm used to my rocket3 and my other bikes, 90 is kinda, low for my taste, and if that is it, what do i need to get more top end out of it? Sorry, my last harley was way back and i can't remember anything about this stuff.
Thanks
Yep, i know it don't seem right but like i said from 0 to 80 is very happy anything after that is a no,no, it is 100%stock that may have something to do with it, i have the pipes already, just waithing on the stage 2 to arrive so i can install everything at the same time.
it really depends on what gear your in. Stock in 6th you won't climb to much but if you keep it in a lower gear you should be able to do 110 at least. I have a 07 fxstc. Mine isn't stock but it will do 130+. Speedo stops at 120.
The prob is trying to reach top speed in 6th. Try 5th! Got mine up to 120 with a stage one but did it in 5th. But yea in 6th going from 80-90 is sloooow.
i have stage one done with the power commander V. i had nothing left in 3rd and didnt try to go any faster in 4th. it was the first time i took a gear all the way to right before the rev limiter. i didnt hit it, but i wanted to know what the engine sounded like at that high of an RPM so i would know where i was without hitting the limiter if need be.
When my Heritage was stock, it was all I could do to hold it around 90...new A/C and some pipes, I've had it around 112. Maybe it could do more, but I lost the nerve. But if in a hurry to get somewhere, I used to cruise at 95. Granted this was last year when I was stationed in Germany and people were still passing me on the Autobahn!
