Default 2007 FLSTF O2 Sensor Plugs...

Hey Guys...

I am in the process of changing over my 2007 FLSTF Fat Boy to a Screamin' Eagle Stage I, Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered (V+H PN 17921), and a DynoJet PCIII. I am doing all of the work myself and really don't have any problems or issues, except this little one...

For a cleaner look, I want to eliminate the O2 sensors and wiring harnesses completely and want to "plug" or "cap" the V+H O2 sensor ports. I do not want to use any old zinc or steel type bolt...I would like something nice and "chromey" if at all possible, but something thathas a "nice and clean" look would do.

I have emailed V+H Customer Service and am waiting on a reply...but until then, any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your inputs...

Steve

I'd like to know the answer to this one too. I'm currently using the sensors themselves as "plugs" on my Samson Big Swoopies exhaust system, but would really like to eliminate them.

What has the world come to, when there are oxygen sensors on Harleys!

If you can figure out what the thred size is for the O2 sensor, why not just put a short polished stainless steel bolt in the bung?
Or you could get a polished stainless steel acorn nut andcut the threads off a bolt that fits to use just the threaded part to hold the nut on with.

Knowing the thread size would be extremely helpful.

So far some real good ideas. I don't know what the thread size is at this time...but I'll find out this weekend.

It appears that K+N makes a plug that comes in several different packaged kits, or simply by itself. The K+N PN is 85-21686, but depending on where you buy it thecost is $16.00 to $21.00!And I need two of them! I feel that that's a damn pricey bolt for something that's not chrome or polished! It must be a high performance model, huh?

I have yet to hear from Vance and Hines...I might just have to call them at the toll-free number after investing $600.00!

I'll post results...thanks guys!

Steve

Good Morning All...

I've received several emails from the companies I contacted concerning the O2 Sensor plugs...here is the information.

K+N (PN 85-21686 w/o bushing, PN 85-2440 w/bushing)...this is a black anodized plug. I cannot tell if it is gloss or flat. The cost is $15.25 and $23.31 respectively direct from K+N. You would need two of either one of these kits.

DynoJet (PN's 37318133, 36973000, and 37218120)...this is a kit that includes the plug, crush washer, and weld boss. The cost is $12.00 each direct from DynoJet. You would need twoof these kits.

Vance and Hines (PN 16925)...this is a kit with both plugs, the Customer Service rep stated that hethought they were chrome but was not sure. The cost is $15.95 direct from V+H. You only need one of these kits. Hell...I figured for what I paid for the BSS...they already got me good anyway!

I have decided on ordering direct from V+H and did so late yesterday afternoon. I DID NOT shop these prices on the Internet but feel certain that you could save a few bucks if you did...I simply need the parts right away and got them while the gettin' was good!

Later guys...and thanks for all the help!

I'll post some pictures after the install.

I am fix'n to travel down this road myself in the near future, V&H pipes, PCIII, and a SE A/C.,

Now help me understand, what is needed to disable the use of those O2 sensors? Are they out of the picture when you plug in the PCIII by default or is there more to this for them to be disabled and no longer needed?

Also, is it also a simple deal to remove their wiring from the wiring harness?

Thanks!

When you buy the PCIII USB, the box will include two O2 sensor eliminators. You unplug and remove the O2 sensors and plug in the eliminators. Yes, they are simple to unplug and remove.
