OK, this feels like a really dumb question but I am not sure where the engine cut off switch is on my 2007 Softail Custom. Is it the ignition switch on the console? I had a 2003 Sporty and from what I remember, it had a switch right near the engine on the right side but I can't find anything other than turning the switch on the console.
I ask because I am taking my drivers test tomorrow and I believe that is one of the things they ask.
Also, any tips from you guys on passing the test? I've rode motorcycles since I was 18 (now 42 but went 15 years without riding). I feel comfortable on the bike overall, it was like riding a bike for the most part.
Lol well, I feel like a dumb ***. The switch is right next to start on the handle bars. Hahahaha I was looking all over the bike, for some dumb *** reason I never thought to look where my hands are.
So.... back to tips and ignore the stupid question.
Otherwise known as the kill switch . Good luck on your test tomorrow. I took my test thru the msf/riders edge course with the provided 250cc metric bike so I wouldn't have to do my test at DMV on my big 800lb Harley. Yep, I was a wus .
Rode dirt bikes on and off road (illegally of course) back in the day but didn't trust my skills on the dmv course with a big bike.

Let us know how you made out.
Will do. I figure...what's the worst that can happen? I have to keep my permit for now and retest. No biggie.
I took and passed my test on my 800 lb scoot. Rear brake drag, clutch and throttle workout. Dont be afraid to rev it ...the bike seems to get more stable at slow speeds with some rpm.
Don't use the front brake when doing the turn in the box and figure 8 and hang your *** off the seat to balance. Work the clutch in the friction zone and keep the rpms high.
I took my test at the MSF class on the 250s. It wasn't easy but not hard, certainly wouldn't Want to do it again on my Deluxe and never on my sport bikes I had. Good luck
I took my test on the coldest day I could find went to bet my odds the instructor wouldn't want to be outside for long placed my bet and I was correct but don't stress it here its not that hard just a pain
