Just got my slim on Sat. Been riding around town a little bit. When we got back last night it was on E. Went to the Gas station this morning and filled up. Tank still reads E and says lo range. Any suggestions?

 

just on 1 tank of gas? sometimes it takes 2-3 for the computer to learn your riding style and figure what kind of range you'll get.. go through another tank, and if it still does it, read through the owners manual on how to do a computer reset which will zero out the range-o-meter and just go through the process again

 

New bike,,, don't fudge with it... dealer warranty work... ask them...

float may be stuck or elc issue?? either way or whatever it is I wouldn't mess with it.

Set Ur A or B mileage to (0) and refill at least every 150 till fixed.

Mine worked for a couple months when I first got the bike. After that I has the exact same problem as you. The dealer ordered me a new speedo (I'm still waiting for it).....before I got the new one in, it started working again.

 

If its the same set up as the Nightrain, I find quite often after I fill up both the gauge and the little empty sign on the speedo both read empty but after a couple miles or so the tank gauge reads full and the speedo warning light goes out.

 

probably a sending unit issue its a job for the dealer under warrenty ..my gauge reads fine but low fuel light comes on at half a tank ..dealer is changing the sending unit on warrenty..im told its a common problem

 

ok, so not sure if this was the cause or what but when i relocated my plate i got the wires to the left signal/brake light backwards. when i swapped them back the fuel problem also went away. guess im just learnin what its like havein a harley lol.
