Cam tensioners and cam chains...affecting power
After changing them, I was still disappointed with the lack of power, so I dynoed the bike to see what was going on. The dynoconfirmed my seat of the pants feeling , HP and TORQ were both off 11 horses and 12 lbs. respectively. Another trip to the shop and a chat with the wrench told me what the problem was...the cam chain had stretched...enough to affect the timing 4-8 degrees..the remedy was 2 new cam chains which the shop replaced for parts cost only...result; I HAVE MY BABY BACK!
Those of you with higher mileage TC's losing power, TAKE NOTE.
BTW, it's an indy shop..that's why they didn't have the chains on hand...wrench hoped it wouldn't be a problem...at least they made it right...
