Default Need More Performance

I have a 2008 Night Train with basically a stage 1 kit. This past weekend I rode my buddies tricked out 2003 Fatboy that has cams & head work. My Train feels like a complete turd now after riding his bike. I want more torque & power out of my Train. What would you guys recommend???

I had the heads decked, ports cleaned up a bit, and crane 310-2 cams installed. Significant jump in power, but not so much it affects everyday rideability. Dyno numbers are in my sig.

I know what ya mean, man. After riding jap rockets, I wanted comfort so I went with my fatty. But then she felt like a slug.
I went BB kit. Andrews cams and VnHs 2-2 at first. It was good , but for me not enough.
Then went with Mikuni carb, pingel petcock, DynaTech electric, Crane Roller Rockers, lifters, an extra motor mount, and since I went with Duals, ,I baffled them. Still not enough.

Then I went with SnS heads and pistons last winter ...Great jump in power and torque!!! But...........

Now I'm having Jims custom build a 6-speed close ratio tranny with a couple real tall launch gears in 1st and 2nd to replace my 5 speed. Before this one, I had enough torque to pull het out from under me. Rev her at a light then dump the clutch and felt like a rocket. After this latest mod, I'm not sure what I'll have, but my indie is suggesting I put wheelie bars on her. Can't wait to get her back. Once I do, I'll go Dyno her (again!!!) ugh!! You ask what I recommend? I say "yes!".

Some are addicted to chrome. Some are addicted to black. I'm addicted to torque!!

whatever you do , you will pay a disproportionate cost for the gain ... it is what it is.

I recommend a direct pipeline to Fort Knox...
No seriously plan how much HP and TQ you want and how much you want to pay.
Look at the Dyno thread and see what others have done to get their numbers, this will give you an idea of what can be done and for how much.

I rode my buddies 2003 SE Deuce in Sturgis last year, and it took me a while to accept the disappointment that my Street Bob was no SE motor. Hopped-up motors are certainly fun to drive.

Like the old saying goes "Horsepower costs money. How fast can you afford to go?"

FIRST, get a 70 tooth pulley for your rear wheel. this alone will give you incredible torque on your launch.

SECOND, get a set of andrews 48h cams, direct bolt on, use everything you already have, set of gaskets, and a tune you will be happy.

my dyno is in my sig, and thats with a bad canned map, also you have 96 cubes, a six speed with the wrong gearing, the new pulley def helps, just throw the cams at it, I think it cost me 350.00 total with a new cam shoe that was worn through. Its a easy DIY.

U need some cams and head work to keep up with Ur friends bike.. just a cam and a good tuner and dyno will make a big diff..

I've said it for yr in here most spend $$$ on looks but do very little to the motor.

Till they do what U did,, Ride a bike that runs good...

Thought about maybe doing a Fuel Motto 107 kit & having it dyno tuned. Still looking at what my best option would be.

Called the shop where my buddy had his fatboy done. They recommended doing a 103 kit that they have done many times with proven results. Said I could expect between 100-110 hp & 110-120 trq. Plus they warranty all there work & parts. Cost is $2000.00 out the door. They did a very good job on my buddies bike so thinking of going that route. Does that seem pretty good???
