The numbers sound a little on the high side, but possible. What cams did he say he'd use? If that price is for parts and labor it's not a bad price at all. Does it include a dyno tune afterwards? Because you're definitely going to need one. But even if you just did what your buddy had done, cams and headwork, you will be ahead of him because you're working with 96" to his 88".

Not sure on the parts but it is a Harley Davidson Dealership that does a lot of nice builds. That price includes the parts, labor & dyno tuning.

Actually, those numbers are a little too good to believe for just a 103 kit and cams.

Most of those builds get 105 or so TQ and 85-90 Hp..

If U do the heads with the 103 BB Kit, cams, and some good pipes then 115/105 give or take some, would be good numbers after a good dyno ..

Just look at some of the 103bb jobs in the softail and/or touring Dyno threads and U see for Urself..

Agreed. You would need head work to get much beyond 100hp/100ft-lbs.

I do think you will be happy with that build. Assuming that you already have a tuner that seems to be a reasonable price. Heads will run you about another grand. The cheapest part of a build will be a good 2-1 pipe. That alone can add 5-10% gains.

What HP & TQ does a stock 96 engine put out to the rear wheel anyways? I'm sure cams, high compression pistons & dyno tuning would be night & day compared to stock right?

dont do the 103 go with the fuel moto 107, I think its 1300 parts, then you just have labor. If you look at the the dyno sheets on their site, w/o ported heads they are where you want or more. I'm waiting till fall to do this myself.

Stock 96" with stage 1 puts out roughly 73-75hp and around 90ft-lbs of tq. Cams will bump the hp number into the 80s and tq closer to 100. (Be sure not to over cam) read the sticky

Bigger pistons will make more power. How does the saying go? There's no replacement for displacement

That's a great price for those numbers. I'm quessing they are gonna port the heads and install 10.5 :1 Pistons along with better cams ?

I had a stage 4 done by the dealer. Got 15% off the price and they subtracted $450 for SERT that I already had from the Stage 1 had done last year. Cost me around $3k and worth every penny IMO. My Fatboy is a beast now. Intial Dyno numbers are 105 HP and 109 TQ. Should be even better #'s now that the bike is broken in.

My stock 96cc with a Stage 1 and V&H BSS pipes was 68hp and 78 TQ.
