As many in the Dyna section know, I am a chrome *****. I now want to start adding bits and pieces of chrome to my Fatboy so as to transform it into a chomed out beauty. I have taken the first steps but now need direction as to what pieces are the most cost effective to get the most bling/shine. So far, all I have added in the way of chrome is the Frenched headlight ring, chrome master cylinder cover and a light bar. If you guys could, would you please list the next three pieces that would bring the best bang for the buck.
I was thinking:
1. Chrome tail light cover.
2. Chrome lower belt guard.
3. Chrome voltage regulator cover.
I want to work my way slowly into the big ticket items like swing arm, inner primary and fork sliders so I don't sticker shock myself right out of the desire to do this. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I just need a few pieces that really pop to get me motivated.
Axle and pulley covers make a huge difference for little cost. Then the swing arm and frame would be amazing! I know those are "big ticket" I tems but I love a frame that isn't black.
Chrome lower belt guard, chrome swing arm frame cover kit, chrome rear axle bolt covers, chrome swing arm pivot bolt covers, chrome voltage regulator cover, chrome pulley cover w/chrome pulley bolt covers, chrome taillight cover, chrome frenched turn signal and spot light trim rings, license plate relocation kit, chrome switch housings w/chrome switch caps, chrome kickstand spring. Those are just a few low cost options. Another low cost item is a show polished Stainless Steel engine and trans bolt kit. Look up cyclebolts on Ebay for the bolt kit. All knurls removed and the bolts and washer look like chrome. Super nice job and only $100.00 for a very complete kit. After you get all of that knocked out then you can move onto the chrome swingarm, chrome lowers, chrome calipers and chrome Nacelle. Don't forget the bucket of chrome polish. Most importantly LOOSE THE REFLECTORS if you haven't already. A pic of the first chrome pieces I bought for my Lux. and a link to the bolt kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARLEY-SHOW-...item4ab3b6156b

Thanks guys. Excellent advice and yeah, those reflectors are coming off today! I noticed every response concentrated on the back of the bike first. Thats where I will begin the work. It makes sense to cover black parts first as well, especially on a predominantly silver motorcycle. I still have a few days left on my dealer discount, so I better head over there and see what I can do.
