Default Blackline sissy bar mod

There uses to be a thread on this but I can't find it. I have a 2012 Blackline and a detachable sissy bar. The dealer does not have the taillight relocation kit so I can't put the sissy bar on there because they are in the way. I think the old thread said you could shave down the actual sissy bar bracket to get it to work and not move the tail lights at all. Can any one confirm this or at least show me a link to the old thread if you have it. I am trying to have this done by Friday so waiting on part isn't really an option.

Don't know the link but here are some pics of the mod. I have done 3 of them for others and myself. Used a bench grinder the filed and sanded before repainting the edges.

So If i cut the bracket, I don't have to move the license plate or signal light? Can anyone email me or send me pictures of their detach sissy bar? Thanks dproto09@yahoo.com

no unless u plan on puttin cargo rack then that calls for relocation of signals.be very careful when grinding down and fitting,I made the mistake of nicking left turn signal a little.no biggie, pretty easy tho..remove cam locks first...

Perfect exactly what I wanted to know. Another quick question on that do you have to cut both bracket or is it only one side that need to be fitted. Thanks again

both sides need to be cut where they come into contact of the light stalks.i put tape on them to protect from scratching them but i still managed scratching the left side so make sure you put a couple layers of tape as a heads up.good luck with it.

I did the exact same thing on mine. You can't tell once you put it back on. Takes a few minutes.
