[QUOTE=parkergeorge;10005949]Supercharger? Where does the belt hook up to spin a supercharger?

http://www.procharger.com/motorcycle.shtml
I would love a supercharger and the opportunity to smoke a ricer. Me and my bike are just too heavy. I thought I was hot **** with my motor build till a sport bike came up behind me at the lights and left me behind.

Why are some of you guys so convinced that there's no way a Harley dyno'ing over 190HP waxed a 600cc crotch rocket up to 100 mph?

Supercharger for a Harley...Very cool concept. I had no ideas Harley 96 engines could even get 190HP. Cool!

you will take the rocket every time off the line. but a stock 600 will still get to 150 mph in seconds if the rider has half an idea how to ride it. if he was riding wheelies, he was just playing around and let up long before you got to 100.. im sure your bike is great, you would smoke anything i have owned in the last 10 years..but the two bikes just arnt in the same category.. that is why they call them rockets, even if it is only 100 hp, the bike only weighs 400lbs

Yes, I have - I rode a friend's 2010 GSXR600 a few months ago. They are fast, no doubt. However, I've personally seen a guy at Silver Dollar Dragway in Georgia running 10's at 130+ MPH on a stock looking Road King. A competent rider on a bike with 191RWHP and 165 TQ should have no problem beating the 600cc rocket up to 100 MPH. That is a lot of power and more importantly torque. There's no doubt the rocket will wax it on topend, but the bike I rode had 116HP and 46 TQ, and it was a dog until you got it wound up. I've seen a lot of fast Harley's at the track.

My 72 Sporty had a supercharger on it. That bike was a real adrenaline rush to ride, and was actually dangerous, which is why I took the huffer off of it. Of course, the dangerous part may have had something to do with the fact that the bike had a springer front end and no front brake. I couldn't keep the front end down, even under moderate acceleration. (tires were a bit different back then as well.)

To the people wondering about what drives the belt, note that the whole primary cover is modified. It was way too many years ago to remember all the details but there was a set of modified pulleys under the primary cover.

Did anyone notice the oil cooler? I made it out of the coil assembly from a truck power steering cooler.
