Default Dragged boards today!

Today was the first time ive ever ridden in a big group. Harley for Hope ride for abused women. Really cool. Went up in the mountains, great twistie turnie ride. Dragged my right board for the first time. Not gonna lie, scared the tar outta me. Then felt awesome when i realized what happened. But that brought up the subject of switching boards for up front controls. i like ufc's but wonderin if they would look right on the slim? anyone done it yet?

I'm always dragging my boards but I came from a sportbike. But it doesn't bother me to drag them. I'm comfortable with it but I try not too though it happens. Not sure bout the look though I personally prefer the boards.

F22 Junky,

NM- most roads are flat and straight so it does not come into play that often unless you like to push through turns. I live in the UK where hardley any roads are straight and we scrape all the time. I hear about all these people with Lo's and then they lower them even more and I wonder how the hell they even ride! If I lowered my Lo any further I would not be able to turn unless I was at walking speed. Floor boards are replaceable if you ever wore them out that much anyway. I like my boards.

If I ride normal (without trying to impress myself or others) I never scrape, but I do like to scrape-for-fun when I see an opportunity. Leaned it so far over the other day when I scraped, I felt the back tire lift off the ground (may have hit the pipes). That sobered me up quick. Lowered bikes don't have as much play room.

Watch the racers, they lean forward and into the turn but the bike does not lean as much as they are. They are forcing the bike to remain more up-right. You can do this in a less exagerated way and keep the boards off of the ground. You can't do this laying back, you must move forward and lean into the turn forcing the bike lean away from the turn. Practice slow and gradually speed up. It takes a lot of practice and with anything when you think you have masterd it, it will bite you. Trying to keep up with experienced riders will bite you also. I always ride my ride and never over ride what I think my ability is. Ride at 80% of your skill level and save the remaing for a deer or other objects.
