I would like to install a set of half moon shakers on my 2005 Fat Boy. I had similar boards on my Dyna that I bought on ebay, but never had enough miles on them to garner an opinion on how long they may last. In this case I am pretty willing to spend the 46 bucks unless I hear from the forum that they otherwise suck, fall apart, separate or instantly rust. Has anyone installed these ebay moons?
I would not buy that specific set since the seller says they already have light surface rust. If its already started you will always be fighting it.
If your patient and wait for someone auctioning them they regularly go for about $50 for OEM takeoffs. Just checked completed items on them and 2 sets sold in the last 15 days, one used w/ "great chrome" for $51 and another brand new takeoff for $55.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I am currently bidding on an OEM takeoff set right now:
Which is how I found these aftermarket ones. Great catch on the rust. I did not even see that in the description. I guess they are probably better than aftermarket, but I just kind of figured that the OEM was probably made in China anyway, so I figured I would shop around.
Yeah, aftermarket doesn't scare me but rust does. The only reason I suggest OEM if you can find a nice clean set is then you don't have to worry about it fitting right and you know they will last forever.
Thanks Mark_H, the ones I was looking at went way over my price range. I am certainly going to start looking for another set. Can't go wrong with OEM. Maybe its just me but the stockers they put on the Fat Boy just don't seem to work. Certainly compared to the Deluxe boards.
