Yea, I had the stock cover off, but I took the little gold-flames plate off and pealed the stock "label" off...now it's just the plain chrome circle & looks great.

Ah man....I already ordered a pair of BadBoy bars from Khrome Werks; about to go pick them up in fact. Ah well, only $50, and I certainly appreciate the offer.

Excactly!
I mean, I love EFI (especially on cold starts), but there's just something about a nicely tuned carb and the extra lopping sound of a single cam.

Mine was set up just like yours when I got it (except for the springer) and I stripped it down to where it is now. You may already have a cam in there as well. Most people are amazed how well my EVO keeps up to newer bikes with the carb and cam mod's and being as light as it is. They are truly fun to ride. Enjoy it.
Exactly! It's not quite as torquey as my cam'd 103" SG, but it moves just as fast.
I just might pull the cam out this winter, just to see what it is (I'm curious, but too busy having fun riding it to bother right now. Plus it's hot as hell!)

Ok, I'm off to get get new bars & grips & pegs.

Another thing as well on that cam. Your year came factory with the crappy cam bearing. If you plan to keep the bike a while you may want to upgrade to the torrington bearing anyway. And of course while you are in there upgrade the cam. I tore into mine only to find it had an EV46 cam (which was way more lift than I wanted and it was noisy) and I put in the EV27 I bought. But the cool thing is it already had the bearing in place. Good piece of mind though to check.

Was up late playing around with it...moving stuff, taking it off, putting back on....taking back off again.

Good advice on the cam check. How do you tell which bearing it is?

Also had the thought...since the fender rails only go about half-way, I'm considering getting a chopped fender. Don't want to just cut the stock one, as I'd like to able to put back "stock" should the unforseen event of having to sell it comes up.
So where'd be the best/cheapest place to look for a chopped fender?

The bearing is a torrington B-138 just google it and you will see. Mine was stamped with the name and number on the edge and I saw it up in the motor. But if you make it that far just get a puller and pop it out and put a new one in if you are unsure.

As for the fenders just look on ebay or any shop and you will be good. Our fenders are narrow and therefore rather cheap.
