Noticed a problem today while riding. When I get up to 70mph and higher (interstate riding), my mirrors vibrate so much I cannot even tell what kind of vehicle is coming up behind me. At speeds below 70mph, it's fine. Not long after I got my Heritage Classic, I changed out the stock mirrors so I cannot remember if they did the same thing at those speeds. I checked the tightness of them and they are as tight as I can get them. I do not ride on interstates very often. Anyone else have this problem?
Hey guys, can't you tighten the phillips screw a tad to get that issue to go away.
Its funny you all brought this up as the wife gave me the split vision mirrors for xmas, I put them on a noticed only one of them beingfuzz from vibration at 70 on the freeway as you described, I saw the 2 screws a figured I would tighten them up as the one that doesnt vibrate is much tighter & and harder to move on it pivot. I never got around to tighting it last weekend and it did nothing but rain and ice around here this weekend. somebody tighten up the screws and doroad test so we know.[8D]
See? This is a very good reason why I like these Forums! I would have never thought about those 2 screws. After reading your reply, WolfDog, I looked at the pic I attached and saw the screws. I thought "Damn! Why didn't I see that?!?" Thanks for the advice. I will tighten them up and take her out for a spin tomorrow on the interstate and let you know the results.
I don't have any screws, just the acorn nut on the end of the mounting post. The only thing I really use my mirrors for anyway is to see if I lost anyone!
However, I did buy new mirrors for my winter project. It will be interesting to see how they fare in the vibration department.

I have a 2005 Screamin Eagle Fat Boy, that has basically the same shape mirrors. I don't get anybad vibration at that speed. Do you thinkthe air off your windshield causes some of the problem. The only timeI notice mine vibrate is under heavy acceleration. Have you checked to make sure your wheels and tires are true?
