Mirrors

At 70, I guess I subconsciously just ruled out the mirrors as unusable except for general identification of yes or no something was back there.
Oh, and my stock mirrors never vibrate, Brian.
Philip
Phillip, the mirrors are split with like a fish eye on the ends, and yes I have not gotten used to them but only have about 120 miles riding with them. When I first went out with them it was like QRAP, after some adjusting and getting them set the way I could see OK they were not too bad.
Thing is I just need to ride a little more with them to get used to the new look, The stockers were on for 6800 mile, so its safe to say I was used to them.
Brian, I tighten up the screws on both of mine on Saturday but did not get to ride, it rained allday so Ispent the whole day in the garage cleaning the Harley, polishing spokes %@$#.
Anyhow its cleaner than the day it came out of the crate, and hope to ride this weekend, Hope Hell, Im riding......
The other thing I was thinking about on Saturday was the mirror shaft that mounts to the controls.
The stockers have a solid piece of steel, these new ones I have, have what appears to be a cast piece of metal for the post, with the notched slots in them, I was thinking well tighten the screws on the back of the mirrors, and give the ole ratchet another crank on the post mounting bolt, I did all that and will report back once I get it out on the road. If they continue to vibrate, i think the problem will be directly related to cast mounting post.
Just my 2-cents, the rubber washers might also be a good idea, however that might lead into more vibration, will just have to try different things, or learn to live with the problem.
Post back up what you try,if it works or not.
Later all..........[sm=pcwhack.gif]
