I was headed to work a couple weeks ago, going down the highway and the head of the right hand mirror flew off. They were the aftermarket tribal HD mirrors.
So a few days later I go to the dealer and pick up a new set of mirrors. They are similar but a slightly different style. Ever since I put these new mirrors on, I cannot see wtf is going on behind me over 30ish mph they are vibrating so bad. I'm not sure why they vibrate so bad when they are so similar to my old ones that didn't do this. Not so bad that I ever noticed it anyway....
Over four decades of riding Harleys I never had one that the mirrors did not vibrate on. Never considered it a problem.
Yep. It's a Harley. However, if you have room inside the bars, you can weight the ends of the bars with lead wool. If you have an interest in this, PM me, I can give you a detailed procedure.
I understand the fact that it's a Harley and going to vibrate and yada yada. The thing that had got me is the fact that the last ones I had didn't vibrate nearly as bad, especially at low speeds like 30ish.
I had that problem till I stopped using wheel weights and static balancing,,
Switched to "Ride On" and the mirrors are glass smooth through the power train and at all speeds.
