+1 on the fall away adjustment. The steerig head bearings are supposed to be taken apart and serviced (replaced if ncessary) every 20K, and almost nobody does it.
After 5 yrs and a lot of post in here, this kind of post is starting to be a pet peeve of mine..
I mean so many times we get a Newbie or member that seldom's ever post come in here and ask's a Question..
Now that's fine and I love to Help others out when I can and I spend a lot of time doing just that.
I just wish the Newbies and those other members who seldom ask a Question in here, PLEASE,,, at least take the time to answer back if one the answer's U got helped U..
Or at least let Us know if U got Ur problem fixed, here or elsewhere!!.
Ur answer could/probably will help someone else down the road.
An answer back would only take a couple minutes to let us know how it went for U instead of never saying anything and leaving us in the dark if U got Ur bike fixed.
Metzeler tires need to be run at a higher pressure as well. Check the pressure, and steering head bearings for tightness. It could be the wheel alignment too but the only time I ever had a serious head shake issue like that the tire was super low on air.
I got about the same problem with my 2011 Fatboy Lo. First appeared with about 10k on the clock and stock front tire and was going through Canada. Stopped into Grande Prairie HD and had them ck the steering head bearings. Said was in spec but my air pressure was low and it helped but didn't eleminate the problem. I've sense changed the front to a Metzler 880 on a performance Machine 18" wheel but still have the shake. Been playing with air pressure to no avail so think I'll replace the bearings and tighten them tighter than spec. It taught me to check my air pressure guage with a known one to. Pretty **** about cking the air but the guage was bogus and reading 13 lbs. low.
I had the same alltho it wasn't a "Slight" wobble... came and went from 40 to 50mph. gradual build to a Serious back and forth oscillation (with hands off the grips, but able to control with both hands on the bike). Front tire had some un-even wear. New tire, balanced and it went away...
I had one of those wobbles that started suddenly - in spite of everybody being sure it's alignment, neck bearing, fall away, etc., it went away as soon as I put on a new front tire.
