Default Dash fogged

Went out for maybe a 40 mile ride this morning on my '05 springer classic. It's pretty friggin humid today. About 25 miles in I noticed the dash was starting to fog and by the time I got back home the milage was almost unreadable. This bike is low mileage (for now) and is garaged. Haven't washed it in a few weeks. ridden almost daily. After parking the bike, within 5 min the fog was almost gone. Anyone else having this issue? Wondering if it's just a mix of engine heat and humidity.

It's so dry this year in St. Louis I couldn't get my dash to fog if I washed it for an hour. I have had it happen before, mostly in the winter going from a warm garage into the cold morning air.... it happens. I've had my speedo apart and it is not sealed anywhere so it will fog if conditions are right.

Mine has done this since it was almost new and I got caught in a heavy rain. Bothered me for a while but now I just live with it. Hasn't had an effect on the operation of the gage.

That happens everytime i wash mine. The gas gauge does that also.
Must be that 40's & 50's technology that we love so much.

Mine does it too. From what I've read, it's something you just need to live with.

I opened mine up a year or so ago to install a bib, and I've had this problem intermittently ever since. I'm just living with it, it clears up after a while...

Yep, its a Harley thing. Every one I've ever owned except for my 11 Geezer Glide (SG) has done it every winter going from cold to hot. Don't know if they actually sealed the gauges on the Geezer Glide or if its just far enough away from the engine heat

My Electra has done it from new, any day, every day. My '92 Sporty did it and my '93 Dyne did too. I'm afraid you'll have to learn to live with it.

It's not a huge problem and I can deal with it. Just surprised current technology is so antiquated in ways.

I'll just say "sorry officer, I can't see how fast I'm going". Lol
