I'd wait for the insurance check first. I second the notion that you might be trying to duplicate your train. What about a softail springer or something a little different so you don't compare the two? It's a nice bike but I would wait.
Like some have said, that's a bit too much $ from that '06. My buddy had an '07 with the stock 200mm tire and sold it for less than that and it had less miles.

Well, considering that I will probably have a good deal of xtra $, I could powdercoat the struts, bars, pipes, lowers and any other odds and ends. I will also have the SS installed professionally and probably STILL have $ left over. Also the two most important things on a Softail for me are a)200mm rear tire and b) Heartland kit. And this bike has it.
You all know that I'm a Train man through and through but every single one I see on eBay or CL are either bone stock or modded in a way I don't like. This bike, if clean, is the PERFECT platform for me to work from.
