Jimbo Contrary to ones thinking the buffering is not coming over the top of Ur shield...
Its coming up from underneath it..
The best fix I've read in here for 5yrs is the FANGS....
They will do more than anything U do to Ur shield..
I''ve cut mine twice, cause when I first got my bike in 07 lots of members in here said its caused by the shield too high...
Well cutting it that won't work either..
Just google Fangs for Harley's and U'll see most who have it give it a 4 of 5 star rating..
Also if U wear a Helmet,, make sure it fits U head really snug.. I found out just last summer on a 5 day trip and I went 1 size smaller on the size of the same style helmet, actually I wore the smaller one I got for my wife and it stopped 99.9% of all the head shakes caused by the Buffering...

+1 for the fangs! It was the only thing that cured the buffeting problem for me. Plus they look great on a Heritage. Best $100 I have spent on my ride.
My screen is 16" tall from the opening above the head light and just over 23" wide. I have a 02 Heritage. I put the "fangs" on and it almost stopped all of the buffeting I was getting in my modular and 3/4 helmet with face shield. I have now gone to a half helmet and the wind coming over the top of my screen is hitting me square in the face! I am really not liking that, so I am thinking about getting a taller screen. The top of my screen hits me just under the chin and I am 6-2. What is the ideal placement for the screen? I am thinking either just under eye level or just over it and look thru the screen. Anyone have any ideas, I am new to riding (only have 6 months under my belt). Thanks as always for the help.
Look into reverse curve shields at 17 inches. You can still see over them and the flip moves pushed the wind up about two or three inches. They do really work as advertised.
had my windshield cut down by 3" on my 2012 Heritage. Firstly I can now see over it, and I am not getting so buffeted by the wind and I also wear a three quarter helmet with visor and sunglasses. I have done a few long trips on the interstate with no issues. I think the longer the windshield the more wind drag.
I am thinking about buying a sheet of Lexan and cutting it to the size I want. Has to be cheaper than buying the HD replacement tall shield. Anyone ever make thier shield? Pointers?
