Default Clutch adjustment

When I ride on long rides, usually all day 200-300 miles, neutral starts to get hard to find. When stopped it is difficult to shift from 1st to 2nd. After the clutch is adjusted it seems to work fine. This happens on all the long rides and sometimes shorter rides if it is hot. I am going to change the lube in the transmission and will be adjusting the clutch once again.

Is this normal for the clutch to need to be adjusted so often, or is this the beginning stages of the clutch needing to be replaced?

What year and how many miles? Also, make sure you are adjusting the clutch when the bike is cold.

Unless you're really raggin the clutch, shouldn't be going bad. I have damn near 50k on mine and it's still fine. I have read in here that certain fluids will help with hard shifting. I would double check the adjustment by the book just to be sure it's all spot on, then check some of the oil threads for gear stuff that reduces the "hard to find neutral" syndrome.

Make sure your primary servicing is correct as well. Overservicing can cause some issues.

Sounds like characteristics of worn out fluid or in correct primary fluid. What oil do you use and is it due for service? Might be a bad cable but that is rare.

Primary, transmission, and engine are all due for fluid change.

I know when my bike is put through a long hot day of riding the clutch can start to feel pretty soft, but never hard to find gears or neutral.

Along the same line, I sometimes have trouble moving from first into second, especially after an hour so so of r4iding. I try to remember that I have to really stomp on the shifter to get to second after I have been riding a while, but I forget every now and then. All the rest of the gears seem to chunk right into place no matter how long I have been riding, but the 1 to 2 shift has left me coasting while revving the engine in neutral when I thought I was in 2nd more times than I can remember. Hmmm.

It would help if U give more info when asking a question..

What bike U have and and mods to U clutch.
like how long since last oils change.?
Who did it?
Are ur levels correct?
What oils U using?
who adjusted Clutch? and when?
How long has she been doing this?
Did U buy used? or new?

I've read too much pri oil will make it had to find neutral and shift.

The more info U put in here the better answers U'll get and its easier to understand what U problems to help U fix it.
