Running Rich = Reduced Fuel Economy, Engine More Responsive, Black Smoke Emission When You Open Throttle

Running Lean = Higher Engine Temperatures, Pinging, Low Power / Throttle Response on Acceleration

Thx for the info. The reason I ask ia that my buddy has an 07 flstc I have an 11. His is stock with slip ons, I have slip ons stage 1 a/c and vh fuelpak. Under the heat shields I noticed his pipes have a bluish color, mine look a little gold in areas. Just curious.

Also in the ole days, we were taught to ride Ur bike out in the country some where, where U could shut her down at speed, roll to a stop. pull one of the plugs to look at and see what they looked like. don't do it after Idling for a while..

That's how we knew how to jet them on the older carb'ed bikes.
