I had shortshots on my 07 street bob definitely liked them and sounded great.
Im shopping around for an exhaust for my slim and am between bassani and V&H
I had the V&H Sideshots w/their quiet baffles on my '09 Street Bob for three years...they held up fine and had a nice deep tone w/the quiet baffles installed.
I might put 'em on my new Heritage instead of the Bassani slip ons I have now...the Bassani mufflers are louder w/the 2" baffles but the tone isn't quite as deep as the V&H exhaust.
Bought my first Harley when I turned 53 - and to be honest I didn't know too much about Harleys- other than I liked them. Ordered the Big Radius when I bought the bike because I didn't like the look of the stock pipes. The Big Radius looked "cool". They are a little loud for this old man, but I have to admit - it sounds like a Harley.

........And that sound is half the reason you wanted one!!
The V&H are a nice pipe, sort of a Wal-Mart kind of thing to me though. Decent pipe and relatively inexpensive compared to others, and on every shelf in America..
I don't care for them because they is a set on every single HD out there, and I hate to be the same as everyone else parked at the curb.
I originally bought a set of Big Radius, but after seeing 1,000,000 sets, I switched to Rinehart Cross Backs.
The Rineharts sound a lot better too.
