There are alot of different company you could go with. It all depends on the look and sound that your looking for. I had freedom performance exhaust last year. They came out with a new design that looks pretty cool. I am currently running Samson 33" non baffled. They just go past the rear fender abit. I also have some 36" if I want to push them further back heres a pic of my 36"
I've got the Sampson with 28s baffled fishtails, they look and sound awesome. Everyone loves the sound. My baffles are not removable, but I'm happy with that.
I replaced stock headers with Rush 2" slip-ons with the Sampson Tru Duals. I was at 75 horses, but after the switch the best they could get with a dyno tune was 60, so I guess these pipes drop appx 5 horses from stock ratings. I had it retuned twice, so this is the best I could get from my bike which I am very unhappy about, my setup dropped 15 total for me. I have stage 1 air cleaner and SERT tuner. I've talked to 4 different mechs/tuners in the state and they say that is about right for this pipe, so be sure u want to loose the power if u go with them. I'm undecided if I'm going to keep these, or do some serious eng. work to get a few horses back.
I am not sure the looks would be worth that much drop in power for me either. My wife and I ride two up a lot, and I need to keep the bike's performance where it is at or make it better.
V&H Fishtails are ugly as he!!. They are to small for the pipes and look out of place.
I picked up a set of Python Fishtail Tips and they are an exact fit on the V&H True Duals. So now I have options... The Pythons tips look way better in my opinion..
I like how the V&H dual left pipe wraps around the tranny housing better than the samsons and the actual fishtail looks more nostalgic to me, but samsons are in the vast majority and now have removable baffles I believe.
Totally agree. Have V&H true duals on my 2011 Heritage, and I love them. Mine are W/O baffels and they are kinda loud, so you might see about getting baffels...it's hard to guess at personal preferaces. Whichever you decide on, duals are the way to go!
