Looks like my Shotgun shock may be leaking down again. I've noticed it a few times and wondered if I just forgot to adjust it. I raised it up all the way yesterday and it was a couple inches down about 6 hrs later. I'm going to raise it up tonight and check it again tomorrow. If it's down this time I'll give JD a call.
Anybody else had this happen and what was the cause?
I heard of it happening to another HDF member (can't remember who), but he had over 50,000 miles on his shock. JD replaced it no problem. How many miles on yours?
My rear switch went bad and JD sent me a new switch harness. I still have yet to replace it. It'll still work if I play around with it. Probably won't replace it and avoid the hassle until it totally fails...
I'm not sure on the miles...maybe 15k. This is actually my second shock. The first one was actually right after they came out and it started leaking down. JD was great and replaced it. This one has performed great until a week or so ago when I started noticing some issues. It's pumped up tight now so if it's down tomorrow I'll call JD.
Seems like some the earlier ones had an issue a valve leaking. I was just wondering if the newer ones had any issues and if so what it was?
Talked to JD today and apparently there are some intermittent seal issues. He said it seems to happen more with certain frame styles due to some alignment issues.
Anyway he will be sending out a replacement unit upon returning from Sturgis.
I was curious if these would start having problems, but like everything else custom your bound to have some bad ones, all you can ask for isgood customer service wich sounds like your getting it
happened to me with my first shock...jd sent a replacement right away and i returned the old one. then my compressor failed. jd replaced my compressor once we found out that was the problem. unfortunately the seal problem seems to more of an issue, but jd seems to be right on top of things getting these replaced. great dude and great customer service.
