Default Raise a Fatboy

I'm a new rider on a used 1998 Fatboy. The previous owner was about 5'-02" tall and I'm 6"-01". I'm sure he had the bike lowered as far as possible. How do I go about raising it back up? Thanks

Could be just the seat. Lots of aftermarket seats that lower the rider. Likewise, lots of seats that help taller riders too.

A side pic of the bike would help. If he lowered the rear with lowering bolts then you can adjust them back close to stock or get a set of stock bolts. If he used drop in springs on the front then you replace them with a set of stock springs.

Look at the shocks. The rod end adjustable? 1/2 inch one way or the other makes quite a bit of difference.

Am I reading this correct? You want to raise the bike not lower it?

Shame on you

If you are feeling "cramped" then get extended frwd controls and a seat that sits you back lower and further - like a bare bones LePera Also depends on your bars rolling them frwd will help too.

Basically like someone already said a side shot of the bike would help alot here. Either way don't raise your bike.

The bike could be lowered 2 or more inches. In that case I'd raise it also. If only an inch, may not be worth it. I am 6'2" and lowered the rear 1". Seats can make a big diff. Also, adding taller bars helps a lot. Pics would be helpful.

I'm over a year late coming to this thread, and it looks like jcb554 is MIA. However, I too want to raise my Fat Boy Lo. The reason I want to do it is for more lean angle on mountain rides. I scrape like a ***** to dangerous proportions! The Fat Boy Lo sits about an inch lower than the regular Fat Boy.

From my understanding, the height of the bike is based on the rods that go into the shocks. Correct? A friend of mine had a "regular" Fat Boy and he had it lowered at some point. Pictured here is the rods out of his Fat Boy.

I have not taken the rods out of my Lo yet so I ask this... Can I expect to find my rods are a different size? If so, would that mean, the shorter the rod, the higher the bike sits? Thanks for the input. I hijacked the thread!
