Default Putting off heat

I've had my 2009 Heritage for a couple of weeks now and it has been bruttally hot here in Nebraska but this bike sure seems to put off a lot of heat. As far as I know the only engine mods is V&H Big Shot staggereds. Is it normal for these 96 ci's to put off a lot of heat or am I'm just being a *****? Also if it's normal are there any options out there to help cool my ***? I'm speaking about add-ons to the bike not options like sticking my *** in the freezer

If you add a tuner it will cool things down. Going to synthetic will help to. You could add a oil cooler. If you dont want to do that then get a crotch cooler from Captian Itch! http://www.shop.captain-itch.com/Cro...Plain-CC-P.htm

Yep, they are air cooled so when its hot out they run hot. They get really hot sitting in traffic. As far as keeping you cool I know a little people run Captain itch's crotch coolers. He is a sponsor for this site. I've never had a need for them but YMMV.

My bike runs about as cool as any Harley can run...but I have a stage 1 tune...with an oil cooler and cams....and it still cooks you on a hot day. Last year at Gettysburg bike week I overheated twice trying to get thru town... But since I added my cams...I have noticed a 25 degree temp drop. But the bottom line is you are still sitting on top of a 200+ degree engine.....its gonna be a little toasty.

Nature of the beast...

+1 Capain-Itch crotch cooler. Just installed one on our bike and took it out this weekend and I could definitely feel the difference.

So being comfortable when riding is being a "*****" huh! well then I'm a "*****"

My wife has an '08 Heritage with the V&H Big Shot Staggereds and I installed the Kuryakynmid-frame saddleshields.
These as basically crotch coolers but are made of plastic and have a chrome appearance.

We also have the H-D Circulator seat (backrest) pads that helps keep you drier and they really work well.
They keep you little cooler but they greatly reduce the sweating which at least makes you think you're cooler.

Looks like I may still be a p#$$%, just as not a big as one as I thought. I'll be getting with Capt. Itch and ordering me a crotch cooler.

Thanks,

Even the Goldwing I had yrs ago was hot sitting on it riding in Hot weather..

Think,, Ur sitting on a big AIR cooled Motor... we all get a lot of heat while sitting at stoplights or slow moving traffic..

As far as helping cooling the motor..

1, STG 1 (pipes and A/C) with a good Fuel/Management and dyno will help a little
2, Syn oils will help a little.
3, Adding some Cams will help as much as both above..
4, Depending on miles,, mine seems better the more miles I put on her. They don't really break in good till 10-15k...

Doing all the above my oil temp dropped for average of 245 to 215 on an 90* day while riding around,, she still will climb higher if caught in heavy traffic.
