I've just put the Softail Lowering Kit.com collars on mine, very happy with the look and ride. Stopped by the Harley dealer, and you could tell very easily that mine sat lower than stock, had a few positive comments on it too. Plus it's easily reversible if the need arises. Had to get mine from them, since Dead Creek's website doesn't give the option to ship to Canada.
the 1 1/2 doesn't really look "lowered" ... but it sure does make it look "right"
cleans up that extra space ... looks good
Thats subjective. Lol I have people all the time that ask me how I lowered my bike....without me telling them I lowered it ahead of time. No...its not slammed but is still pretty obvious if you compare to stock.
My own How-To when I did mine with the lowering bolts.
Benway your how to post is what got me to do my bolts I used a bottle jack and the bumper on my pickup to press it against and had no problems. Love the look and ride I am at 2" and maybe could get another turn or two out of the nuts before they would be unsafe.
Shotgun shocks, hands down. My bike is heavily modified and the one mod I like best is the shotgun air ride shocks, hands down, end of story, period! Its just a blast to ride now and when you pull up somewhere and slam it with the flick of a switch everyone just goes wild. You will not be sorry as apposed to buying something else and later on down the road, you will be sorry if you didn't buy the shotguns. Always remember, you get what you pay for.
I bought the lowering bolts, but then got to thinking about it. My Deluxe already sits really low and with the 39" Cholos, I didn't want to go too low as I already scrape them in driveways and the extended floorboards in tight corners. So I just now ordered the Dead Creek Cycles lowering kit. Easy install, and will make the bike look like I want. If not, I'll pull them and install the lowering bolts, eventually I'll have the Shotgun shocks. Just need mo money mo money, lol.
