Default Nighttrain Custom or Rocker?

Looking around for a "bar" bike to do some local poker runs and just a toy bike fo when the wife's not riding with me.. Been thinking of doing a Nighttrain and soloing it out or a Rocker..

Never been on a Rocker, ride just like any other softail? I lik ethat its already setup with the 240 tire but no sure what I think of the tank and bars...

Also, whats with the gray plastic look on some of them???

I say go with the Night Train. They look great from the get go. The Rocker C needs lots of help, the seat and rear fender have to go just to start. But I'll say I've seen some that look really good when customized right. As far as the standard Rocker goes, well I don't know what you would do with all of that grey powder coat.

There's going to be a lot of opinions on this one, I'd go like Wide open Nightrain but like him I'm bias cos I've got one, and as he has said Rockers can look good after you've spent some money on them, unless you like the seat setup, but they're also more expensive to buy, unless you get the Gray version that was only made for a year so it may be quite rare.

The tank on the Rocker looks a lot better with a tank lift, raises the front of it an 1" to 3" depending on what one you get, the rear tyre is a 240, with any luck Michalob may see this thread and post a pic of his bike that's how a Rocket should look.

If you like the true hardtail look with a fender close to the rear tire, and also a bit of a stretched and raked look, not much will get you closer than a rocker. It just takes some minor work (starting with a different seat, maybe) to get it looking decent, compared to the major mods you'd need to do on another model to get that basic look.
Personally, I like the long low look, and was looking at a custom "pro street" frame before getting the Rocker, so it was perfect for me. Don't care for stubby looking bikes. LOL
The Rocker measures 8 feet from front of front tire to rear of rear tire.

Driving? It's different. Not bad, not hard, just different. With the extra rake and fat rear tire, it feels different in corners. It corners fine though. No problem cornering hard enough to scrape at the factory ride height, and feels perfectly stable doing it.

I prefer the Train if you are just talking about stock but when you get into customizing it's a tough choice. There are some really nice examples of both on here.

Rattle can the gray. Kind of like what HD did with a FXST. Paint it black and call it a new model.

Both are very nice bikes. A stock Rocker is not as attactive as a stock train, but if you want to make a Rocker your own it is the way to go in my opinion.

I personally fell in love with the Heartland Rocker when it was introduced with the grey & black combo. The grey is rare because most don't like it, I'm one for less chrome & the uniqueness.

Either choice you make you can't go wrong.
