I gave up on Harley fuel gages. They just don't know how to make something as simple as a fuel gage that actually works. Short memory I guess because I had a 2002 Night Train that was actually dead on accurate. My Heritage is still under warranty and they won't fix it.

I just installed the flush mount gas cap and fuel gauge. I think it was 7 LEDs for the gas gauge. Seems like all 7 remain kit for most of the tank, then it drops very rapidly after that. Very non-linear response.

MY RKC fuel light came on. 1 mile later, I ran outta gas. Fortunately, it was at a light right in front of the gas station closest to my house. So the fuel light is a piece of crapadoola.

But the guages on my RKC & FB seem reasonably accurate.

04 Heritage, start looking for fuel at around 160 miles. Usually still have over a gallon left.

Fuel light comes on with over a gallon left in my 09 Heritage. Fuel up at 180 miles per the trip meter and only takes 4 gallons in the 5 gallon tank. At 180 it is time to get off anyway! Just my 2 cents.

I covered mine up. The gauge on the speedo is accurate. Even has the little low fuel idiot light.
