I know i want highway pegs and a backrest. trying to shop around online for seat with a backrest preferable one that adjust forward and aft. Can anyone tell If they consider the heritage as a softail ot tour style bike? I dont want to buy the wrong seat. Also any tips to first time biker for things to do to a bike, good places to order parts from etc.

Buy the Mustang seat that comes with the rider backrest... You will not go wrong. And they do sell the seat with the studs..

I have found the stock seats to be very comfortable.

You gotta ride for a while and see what develops for your likes and dislikes about all things on the bike.

Give it a few thousand miles.

It's a Softail, plain and simple. Harley categorizes all bikes based on the frame. Heritage is a Softail frame.

Depending on what you are planning to do with the bike I do suggest you look at the Touring line. (note I've owned and own Softails so no bias here).

If that's the bike you wind up with just be sure whatever you look at fits the FLSTC for your model year. Take a look at ISO-grips as well.

Check out the HD forums Classified adds as you can get some really good deals on what you are looking for, just make sure of the fitment as some of the earlier bikes equipment will not fit the 2012 Heritage.

OBTW, you got the best Harley out there IMHO.
