New rear brakes and rotor 3 weeks ago. Ridden 4 times since then. Today I notice a whoosh-whoosh-whoosh coming from the back. Something is rubbing but I can't see what. I have a big ride to Vermont in 2 days and with all my past problems with the bike I'm scared to go now. honestly it just never ends for me. When I get home tonight I'm going to take the bags off and look around. Sigh. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.
My brake pads scrape (for lack of a better term) when I spin my wheels. I assume that's what I hear when turning them...maybe its the wheel bearing, not sure. Its not a whooshing sound though...more of a scrapping sound.
He checked it over this morning, said nothing is wrong. The new pads needs to wear down a bit before I will stop hearing that whooshing. He checked the play in my brake pedal, said the play is good, pistons are doing what they should.
So I guess it's ok. Never heard that noise before but then again never had new back brake pads before. I HAVE to be paranoid about every noise with all the problems I've had!
Off to the Killington Classic in Vermont tomorrow. If any of you are there come by the bike show and say hi!
Great looking ride, good luck at the bike show, get a ipod and ear buds, get some good riding music and you wont be hunting every bad sound on the bike, ride safe.
