Hey all, new member and just got my first Harley and it's my first road bike ever. Grew up riding dirt bikes as a kid but that was 20 years ago! Guess that classifies me as a rookie Anyways here she is, 2006 Night Train.
Still getting used to how it handles by riding it around the neighborhood, about 30 miles a day. Taking the MSF course in a few weeks and excited about getting enough confidence to take my wife out on the back but kinda nervous as how that will change the way the bike handles. Look forward to logging many safe miles and chatting with you guys.
You might want to look into getting a different seat, and a quick detach sissy bar backrest for your wife.
If she can have her take the MSF course too. If she can't, tell her to look over your left shoulder when going into a left turn, and your right when going into a right turn.
Tell her whatever she does to NOT sit up straight in a turn. I know a guy who's wife did that ... and they crashed.
I was in the same boat as you when I got my NT. A new seat was a must for me when it came to 2up riding. Stock Badlander seat not so comfortable for a passenger. Welcome and ride safe.
