Default Stage 1 A/C option

Ive seen a lot of questions on aftermarket or upgraded A/C options. Seems like people recommend S&S, wimmer, K&N, BIg Sucker and a few more. I'm a big fan of the open filter like the SE heavy breather and wondering if that's a good air cleaner or if I should look at the K&N comparison or I believe S&S has a similar one but a bit more expensive.

FWIW, I have Vance & Hines Short shots and the V&H fuelpak. Thanks.

The SE heavy breather is a decent a/c, but for the price, there are a lot better ones out there. Also, several guys talk about having clearance issues for their knees.

I have the SE ventilator kit and really like it. Also had the Ness Big Sucker on my SB and thought it was good too.

+1 on the Big Sucker. I run mine without the football cover (open).

I'm running the Stage 1 with a K&N 0800 filter. If I were to change, I would lean towards the K&N style that is similar to the Heavy Breather. I would have to ride or sit on a bike with one on it to see if clearance is an issue. But they look pretty cool IMHO.

Choosing a Stage 1 Air Cleaner that does NOT feed hot oil air back into the intake will net better performance.

OUTLAW HiFlow 587 Air Cleaners are also low profile and are available in a variety of styles...here's just a couple.
