Stripped Caliper Bleeder Valve.
I needed to bleed my front break line after switching out my handlebars but unfortunately my front caliper bleeder valve stripped on me when I tried to open it. I'm pretty sure I can get it out with some effort and fortunately from the 84 mile ride I just did (plus a couple of short test rides before that) the front break seems to be stopping as good as it did before I did the tear-down. However, I do want to go through a proper bleeding procedure just to make sure everything is cool.
Have any of you had one of these valves strip on you? What did you do to get yours out? I figured I'd file down two of the sides flat in order to get a good grip with either a small wrench or some pliers.
I suspect that this is a simple case of screwing the old one out and installing a new one in its place and the dealer told me the same thing. Does this sound right to you all or is it a little more involved than that?
Thanks,
Skeez.
