I have 08 deluxe and have always had problems with gas leaking especially after a fill up. Got so annoying, gas running out of tank and all over me and my bike, that we now dont ever fill it up. My tank around/under cap is now flaking paint off. We have told the dealer about this problem on several occasions but they didnt give us any advice as to what we could do to fix it. Really frustrated now, because this could have been fixed before it caused damage to my bike. Think they should paint my tank!
Took My 08 Rocker to dealer today for recall. Was concerned since i had changed out fuel cap about a year ago but it has nothing to do with cap it is the threads in the tank. Took about fifteen minutes plus you have to send in the slip that comes with recall that the dealer fills out to the dmv when your registration is due or you will not get your tags. Thats here in So Ca.

I agree. I'd contact corporate about it and talk to your dealer. And if they say no I'd go to small claims court with that recall notice In hand.
I was just messing with him
Wondering now if he actually mentioned to dealer that he doesnt want the chit brown option lol.
lol no i didnt mention it
it looks like they did scrape around a little inside the threads in the tank, but they def either gave me a new cap or put a new threaded peice under the cap because its completely different. The o-ring on my old one was towards the bottom and this one has the o-ring towards the top, and it seems like sturdier thicker material. I went on about a 250 mi ride after taking the FB up to the HD dealership saturday morning and filled up a while after i left and it did just fine. No leak, or "haziness" coming out of the cap and around my tank.
edit: and no registration, or paperwork, etc just about 10 minutes in and out, but thats here in Indiana, not commifornia... i mean cali... lol
