Default wire/cable length with Wild One 501s

I'm putting the Wild One 501 drag bar on my Night Train. Will I need new longerbrake/clutch lines? Just eyballing it it looks like the stock ones have enough length. And how about the switch wires? A buddy of mine with a Dyna mentioned when he put new handlebars on there was a good bit of slack in the wires down by the battery. They were looped around and cable tied. He just undid that and had plenty of wire.

Thanks!

I put the W500's on my Night Train, Wild 1's are Great bars. 6" rise, instead of the 8" on the W501's.
I used the stock cables and wires, but the wires were very close to being short. Now I didn't move the harness forward from the connector under the tank, so I don't know if there is any slack back by the battery.
If you are going to internal wire them, and have not done this before, you are in for a real lesson. Lube the harness up good and use mechanics wire to pull them through, I tryed string the first 2 times, but it kept breaking. Wrap the bars with cloth or something to protect them while you are fighting with them. LOL.
Get some good grips and install the throttle side side first, so you can match the "pattern" or "Rotation" on the clutch side when you glue it on.
Have fun and be patiant.

I've got the 501's on my Train. Everything is long enough. The wires are pretty tight tho, soI went ahead and lengthened mine a couple inches. No since in taking chances.

Thanks for the advice. I will internal wire them so I'm ready for my lesson. Not sure what you mean by mechanics wire. Figure I'll use the safety wire I use for track days. And what do you lube the wires with?

Thanks again!

Scott

I call mechanics wire a thin flexable wire, easy to bend, but pretty strong. I started by tieing a string to a small nut, then dropping it through the grip hole, manuvering the bars untill it came out the exit hole, then wraped the wire to it and pulled it back through. Wrap it aound the wire ends, then tape the ends into a tight circle. For lube you could use anything, I used something thick like vasoline. I found that once the wires made it to the exit hole, to use2 small picks to push the wires out the side hole, useing the picks in the mounting hole and the exit hole. It is not as easy as it sounds though, but it is definatly do-able. Let me know how it works ot for you.
