Yes this is a serious question and yeah, I know most people would never think such a thing but at certain times of the day the chrome around and below the speedometer reflects straight up into my face and I don't like it. I have the original leather strip that goes on the tank between the dashboard and the seat. Is there a leather cover for the dashboard to stop the glare? Any other option(s) for covering that to stop the glare? Any and all serious and helpful replies appreciated.
I get that once in a while from the top of my trees and forks. It can be pretty blinding. Haven't tried it, but maybe polarized sunglasses would help?
Haven't had a problem with the speedo area, because I wear a full helmet (like Kowan suggested) and that blocks the glare. I know that's odd for a Harley rider, but hey, if you're going to go to the bother to use a helmet, why not use a good one?
Unfortunately I have regular glasses I have to wear.
Polarized clip-ons maybe?
An HJC full-coverage helmet with the latest Snell rating is only about $120 from Leatherup.com. Other Harley riders will look at you funny though... they are such conformists.... think they got to wear the Harley "uniform". LOL

Have the same problem relatively often. Been wearing a half helmet but I do recall it happening sometimes in my full. Odd thought just popped into my head. It may certainly distract from the looks of the bike, but I'd guess some kind of clear overlay on the chrome may cut the glare down. Ya know, that plasticy-rubbery stuff you can stick on a window and then remove and use again. Not sure I know what it's called and unsure of wear you'd get it but it's the same material that is on a helmet visor or sunglasses when you but them.
If you could get a sheet of that stuff and cut it to the shapes you need....

I hate the glare off the of the console around the speedometer...so we got one of these in black leather, added some studs to match the seat and tank bib and added a visor on the speedometer...problem solved.
Oh, and you can order prescription Ray Ban polerized glasses. the better optical shops can take care of it, provided your prscription will allow it. Or get the lasix surgery, I HIGHLY recomend it!
