I have them on my 06 Deuce and I like them a lot. You'd barely notice them (and they're nicely made/chromed, in case you do) when the bags aren't there. And the bags (any bags you choose to install on the mating part of the brackets) go on, and lock on, in literally seconds. Good product, I'd buy 'em again. Hope this helps. - BrianK
I wish I had known about these before I got the HD mounts!
Brian, I have the bags like the ones shown on the bike in the picture that Soft06 posted. I had to relocate the turn signals on my Nightrain to fit those bags. Do you think that they consider my bags "large" bags and that I will need the kit for the large bags (UK) instead of the small bags (SK)?
I think that if you are going to ride your bike a lot without the bags, then these would be good to have. If you leave the bags on, however, I don't think these look as good as the "tight in" mounts that I have with the stock HD mounts. It is nice to be able to remove the bags and take them in with you by unlocking them. Unfortunately, the HD bags >look< like they will hold a lot, but they are so concave on the back that they don't hold diddly squat... maybe milk and eggs that your wife asks you to bring home... so why take them off. You can unload them faster![X(]
Ghost brackets are OK, but I really like the EZ Brackets better. With either, there is a simple trick if if you have a problem with a bag sticking. Lay a straightedge on the mounting studs and use shims to align the grooves. Because the fender braces are stamped sheet metal, they sometimes end up a little out of shape and you need to compensate for this.
EZ Brackets...?? are these the HD mounts? Are the Ghost barckets cheaper than the HD set? Last I looked HD wanted something like $600 plus for the bags and the mounts.
