Default 210 tire on a 5.5 rim

I have been thinking about doing this for a while. so i got my self a metzler 210 for the rear of my bike. When i got my Ride Wright Wheels they sent me a 180 saying for the LO, that was the best tire for it but i really think it looks too skinny. Here is what i am worried about, will the 210 fit on my 5.5 rim?
I dont want to force anything.

anyone got any opinions, suggestion, or comments they are greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Jason

I have a diff. bike, but a similar situation. My 08 rocker calls for a 240 on the rear. I "made" (tight...but just made it) a 260 fit on the 8.5" rim. That is a 2 size jump on stock. Once we got the tire on the rim, then you got to fit it back on the bike and the edge of the tire was touching the belt. We did a shim change and it was good. IF you get the tire to fit the rim, will it fit back on the bike? Good thing is it's only 20 bucks to change the tire/try. Since you are jumping up 3 sizes it might be too tight...? Good luck.

No way..200 max even then it's snug..Look at a Metzeler 200 they have a wider shoulder than the Avon if that's the look your going for.

180 is the biggest tire that most tire manufacturers recommend for a 5.5 rim...yeah I know everybody runs 200's them...but Harley puts 200's on 6.25 rim. A 200 on a 6.25 is noticeably wider than a 200 on a 5.5 rim...the 215 will probably rub the belt and still not give you the look you are after.
