I know, I know, we have been over this, but.........
So I am debating the rear fender situation. I like the hugger, but sorta looks out of place IMHO, sorta. I sorta like the metal fender was gonna fab up. Not sure. Input!!!!
I can fab one to look like this.
Like this. Sorta looks more "Harely". I would get beefier steel for the supports.
Or just stay with the hugger?? Sorta out of place, but goes with the theme, I mean nothing on this bike is "in place"!!!!
.
I guess I am rethinkiin this because I just think the fender I fabbed looks better. Since the transmission hasnt come back yet I had all day to tweek little things. Then I started lookin at the hugger!!!! I also dont know why the hell I am askin for input!!!!!! Most guys here didnt like the hugger.
I think I found a happy medium for now. I think the problem with the hugger is that it was "jumpin out" too much when lookin at the bike. So I resorted to my trusty old spray can....FLAT BLACK!!!! Dryin in the cellar for now. Will post pics in a little while. I think this will pull the rear end together a little tighter. The silver was just a bit much.
And for you "high end paint guys" who think the spray can is is satan, that is how I do my bikes. I do not like fancy paint at all. I dont really like any paint. I prefer the rat / hot rod look, industrial, utilitarian, scratch it, ding it....re-spray!!!! I mean, if you like fancy paint that is fine, just not for me.

I hear ya. The difference here is that I only did the hugger, not the tank. I like the all black, I just like the raw tank more. So we will see how the raw tank and black hugger looks. Pics in a few.

Prefer your fabbed fender, but blacking out the hugger makes it fit better. Everything black but the tank will look good, I think.
i like it much better also. Dont know why it took so long to figure it out!!! I think because I was hung up on thinkin if I blacked it out I would also do the tank. Took till tonight to figure out to just do the hugger. Now I have the wheel coverage without the "sore richard"!!!!
