Gee, I worked all night to get her back together. I was all excited, then when I was done I realized I hadnt really changed anything.
Well, I did switch to white header wrap and blacked out the hugger, but nothing earth shattering. I bought one of those frame covers that goes under the seat. I am gonna have to spend some time and do some trimming to make that thing fit under the seat. I guess that will be for next week. She is back in running condition anyways!!
is that white wrap or yellowish titanium wrap? Can't tell if the flash makes it white or not. Antiqued yellowish color would be good on the wrap i think. Also one more vote for the fabbed steel fender. But, it is your bike so do what you want.
Thanx, The wrap is white, breaks up the profile a bit. Still a bunch of tweekin and playin around to do, but that is all just fun cosmetic stuff. With the tranny squared away, all the major stuff is done (all lights work, brakes are bled etc) and she is ready to go for spring!!
Definately not a "refined lady" at this point, but she rips!!!
I wish I did!!! I must have dropped at least 250lbs off this little piggy. You really get a shock when you push the bike the around, feels like a mini bike.
When I brought the bike to the shop to have the transmission looked at, I unloaded it off the trailer. The guy got behind it to help me push it into the garage as there was a bit of an incline. I told him I was all set and pushed it in very easily!!!
The big weight was obviously dropped in the wheels, forks and swinger, but the belt drive also dropped a lot and the whole rear fender, struts etc accounts for a bunch.
With the big drop in lbs, the old 1340 feels that much more snappy also!!!
Just finished going through this whole thread. CT, I'll try to connect with you when the sun comes back to this hemisphere I'm just over the border in Taxachusetts.
I've really enjoyed watching this build, really different, and not to my taste, but really, I'm not riding it YOU are!
Hey painting it black helped a lot lol. The silver paint on it made it look to "plasticy"
I wouldn't mind taking a ride on that.
Cant wait to see how it turns out when the season comes up.
I am so "on the fence" with the rear fender. You watch, a couple more cold weekends and a few beers and I will probably end up putting the steel one on (with fatter side supports)!!!!
