Crazy Monster Build thread
Now let's move on and not hijack this thread, please.
im sure there is a few derelicts that will like the crap, and anyone commenting on my short shots? they work fine, its not like i tried molesting a bike and throwing something stupid on it and calling it kool like some of these forums are full of....
This is your first Harley, right?
Who put on the short Shots for you, the dealer?
As far as evo2's comments. Listen dude, I can give a **** what you think about my bike. If I wanted what YOU consider "a nice machine", I would have left the thing stock and maybe added some tasles off the end of the bars. I wanted to turn some wrenches, drink some beers and build what I wanted. The biggest miracle is that I pulled it off. It runs and rides great!!! So you go in your garage and screw some chrome air stem caps on that little sporty and tell yourself how great they look. One thing is for sure, if I ever do go into your thread, I will probably not comment. If I did, I would tell you if that is what you want, knock yourself out, it aint mine!!

I was riding home on the highway the other day and the bike started to sputter like it was out of gas. Got off the ramp and checked gas, 1/2 tank. Kept going home and bike sputtered and stalled. Wouldnt start, ready to call tow truck and then it starts. Made it home ok.
Ordered new air cleaner, checked fuel line and petcock, seemed ok. Went for a ride tonight. Got 1/4 mile from house and bike sputtered and stalled!!! Pushed it home, started to rip carb off to check jets. Decided to check spark before I ripped into carb (*****). Pulled plugs and turned over motor. No spark on both plugs. Ok, must be coil or something is grounding out. Started to check electricals, couldnt find anything grounding out. Checked spark, still none. Checked spark again, now there is spark!!! Confused.
Guy up the street is a mechanic of some type, dont know him well. Road up to his house and he was outside. Described problem. He started to check for grounds and said it was probably the coil. He then noticed that the ground wire on the battery was not completely tight at the terminal, moved back and fourth a little. I borrowed his wrench and tightened it down hard. Went for a five mile ride, no issues!!! Cant believe my luck!!!
I also left that ugly little coil cover off so you can see that ugly coil in full glory!!! I am so "anti cover", I dont why it took me so long to rip that little bugger off.

I dont like the way that big gear in the belt drive rusted, I guess it doesnt matter on rat rod, just dont like it, gonna have to clean it up, just in a hard to get to spot.

Got a new side cover for the punisher also, new sticker too!! Hey, I thouht i was "anti cover", oh well.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I figured that must be it. The five mile rip with no issues made me feel like that was it. I guess I will take a few more rips, but i think this is it.
Also, I talked to buddy who went for a ride with a guy who had a brand new harely. New Harley broke down and it was discovered to be the same problem, loose ground cable on battery. I guess it is sort of a common problem. I though more guys here would sound off.
I hate updates with no pics!!! How bad *** is this old scholl Kat?????
