I was curious to know if anyone out there has installed a chrome toolbox on the left side of your Heritage? I was thinking of getting one but the dealer told me that Harley only has a right side toolbox for the '06 Heritage and that the left one won't be compatible? Is this the case? If not (and if you have one on the left side), did you have to install any other devices such as spacers or saddle bag relocation brackets? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
i have a 2005 ann.fatboy and i installed the chrome one from harley on left side of my bike.there shouldn,t be any
differance on your bike.they look good also.good luck
Fatboy and Heritage is the same bike, I have boxes on both sides. Maybe someone else will chime in though. It will work, it will bolt on,don't know about bags.

That's where my concern rests; the bags. If there will be a problem or not? I just found it odd that the HD catalog specifically lists the FLSTC for the right side toolbox and makes no mention of it for the left side; although the fatboy is included in the list? I know by all accounts it 'should' fit. But they are telling me it won't (on left side) and that's why I posted this here. I appreciate the comments thus far. But is there anyone with a Heritage that has the toolbox w/bags on the left side?
Suggest you look and compare the left and right side of your bike and see if they are different in terms of the footpeg mounting or the bag lower mount.

Done that. All looks to beidentical to me. That's what's bugging me about the whole deal in the dealer telling me that the left side won't work? I think it will. Sorry to be such a pain in the ***, fellas. I guess it's a guy thing; I HATE returning crap once I buy it. Just wanting to make sure is all.
I have the tool box on the left side. Had it with and without saddlebag guards. Not sure why the dealer is telling you it won't fit your bike. Ask him the specific difference between an 03 and the 07. I just looked at the harley website...it doesn't show a left side for my bike and only shows the right side for 00-05. At any rate, I have it on my left side...can send you a pic if you want...

I'd appreciate it, thanks. Also, did you have to use the spacer kit or saddle bag relocation kit? That's what they tell me I need for the right side.
