I like that Mustang seat. Looks good. I am thinking about getting one myself.
Without the backrest how much back support is there?
It looks like the seat is cut back and down pretty deep giving some back support without the add on backrest. Also does it raise or lower you any?
Thanks

I wonder how much different the comfort is on the sport verses the vintage solo or other vintage tour style Mustangs.. That sport style seat is a bit different looking.

lawdog,
The solo seat is cut back and down and does provide some back support. The solo without the back rest provides more support then the stock badlander seat. I do ride without the back rest but perfer riding with the back rest.
The solomoved me forward about an inch and I did not notice any difference on the rise. When I first got on the solo it seemed to be extremely wide, I quickly adjusted and now do not even notice it. For me the Mustang is a great seat.

No thanks, cold and dry I can handle, cold and wet I can do without. We are supposed to hit 50 tomorrow, may have to break out the bike for a little ride. Sunday is supposed to 40 and rain with the dreaded wintery mix in the evening.

How does the Mustang Vintage Solo seat compare to the Harley Davidson seat with rider backrest (Fat BoyÂŽ Seat with Rider Backrest part number 51560-00A)? I'm in the market and had been leaning toward the HD seat because I liked the look but after seeing the Vintage.....

Love the look of it on your bike by the way!

One look at the seats close up and you'll know.. metal plate with rivets verses plastic with staples holding the material... I can vouch for the mustang foam material, fit and comfort.. Far cry from any harley seat I've ever sat on.. Most comfortable seat I've ever sat on, on any bike. from a scale of 1 - 10 in quality and comfort, I'd put my stock fatboy seat a solid 3, an upgrade Harley seat about a 6 and the Mustangs at 9 or better.. Incidentally, I'd probably put corbin right up there with them in build quality, though I think the corbins are leather vs synthetic.. I read good thing about the corbin tour seat but given the price, I'd give the mustang the nod.
