Deluxe hard bags: help requested
My wife has a 2006 deluxe that we are going to add police style hard bags to and I need some help.
Do you have to run true dual exhaust with hard bags or can you run some straight slip on pipes or something similar?
Does anyone besides cycle vision make a good set of brackets? they seem to be the only ones that I get when doing searches. (maybe a reason for that)
anyone got any tips that I might use?
between the bags, (locks, inserts, pop-up latches) brackets, dual exhaust, (fuel prossesor, k&n air filter, dyno tune if needed) she talking about maybe a fairing too, plus paint. this could get expensive.
anyone have side pics of bags on a deluxe (tell what brackets used) that shows where the bottom of the bags will be in relation to the axel?
this is the best pic I could find. It has since been slammed low in the rear and has rush slip ons that the top of come to just below the axle.

As long as your exhaust is lower than axle you should be good, sorry I can't get you a pic of my lo right now , I'm on vacation. I'm running Cycle Visions, very nice solid bracket, instructions suck, imo, but if you've ever wrenched a little you'll be able to figure it out, had a piece missing when I got them, but after 2 phone calls I got the missing piece and make sure you mock everything up before sending those bags off to paint, learned that one the hard way!
