Get a beer bottle or pop bottle cap, smash it with a hammer and slide it in there. It won't budge after that.

Drill and tap the risers and use set screws. Easy and inexpensive.

Thanks for the help. We will do some experimenting with these ideas. I'm sure one will do it. maybe the pins.
