Default questions for lowering 06 night train

just had my bike lowered using bolt kit and now i'm hearing a whistle or flapping noise when giving it gas, on the left side from the motor. should any belts have been adjusted to not cause undue pressure anywhere? would the re-balancing of the bike level cause something to need to be adjusted?

Belt might be rubbing. Mine rubs the top of the opening in the primary. Doesn't make any noise though. Look closely at the belt, and the belt guards if you still have em. Belt tension shouldn't be that far off, the swingarm is designed to move through its range without tightening or loosening the belt much from spec.

Check your tire too, make sure it's not being rubbed by the fender bolts.

understand what you're saying. checked all what you suggested. so to your knowledge there aren't adjustments to the belts that should be made when lowering? the noise is 100% coming from the v twin area when i give it gas

The belt should deflect about 1/2" with 10 lbs pressure about 1/2 way between the pulleys, IIRC. Check that, and check the tracking. Put it up on a lift in N, and spin the rear wheel forward and backward. Belt shouldn't move laterally in the pulley at all. If it does, adjust the alignment using the adjusters on the axle. If there are no rubs or alignment issues, don't know what could be making the noise. Lowering the bike shouldn't affect anything with the engine. Could be something unrelated that happened to coincide with the drop. Maybe someone else will chime in with some ideas.

Mine was the belt slapping on the belt guard. I took the guard off and now I can hear my belt squealing . So now I'm rubbing the belt with bar soap until I have a chance to adjust it.
