Bike idles fine, I can get through the gears at a normal pace, but any attempt to rapidly accelerate results in the motor sputtering. Any suggestions? Thanks 93fxstc
Two other factors there.. Type of exhaust setup and air cleaner setup.
Same here if I'm in low RPM's and give it the throttle, I might have it spit a little.. I attribute it to a torque dip in the low-mid RPM range.. Which is attributed to running drag pipes.. Though this is much much better with the rineharts on my bike than the bigshot shorts I used to run, it's still present. I wondered if it was possibly due to jetting. Hard to say.. I'm no tuner.
I can say though your exhaust will have a huge affect on this.. I simply added some backpressure by going with a more restrictive bub "quiet" baffle rather than the very free-flowing stock Rinehart baffle, and that torque dip was virtually eliminated.. No issues with any low-RPM accelaration.. But it sounded like crap. So my take on this is the increased backflow pressure made the difference. Makes me want to just raise the profile in the stock baffle louvres just a wee bit to see what happens.. Just to dial it in just right, maybe.
